Pathway Ceremonies – Frequently Asked Questions
At a time of loss, it’s natural to feel unsure about what to do next. Here are some gentle answers to questions families often ask.
How soon can we arrange a meeting?
As soon as you feel ready. Once you get in touch, I will arrange a time that suits you—usually within a day or two.

Can family members take part in the ceremony?
Yes, absolutely. Family and friends are very welcome to take part in whatever way feels right—through readings, sharing memories, music, or simply being present. There is no pressure—everything is guided gently.
Where can the ceremony take place?
Ceremonies can be held in many locations, including crematoriums, funeral homes, gravesides, private homes, or another place that holds meaning. I am based in Dublin and work with families and funeral directors across the area.
What makes a celebrant-led ceremony different?
A celebrant-led ceremony is shaped entirely around your loved one. It allows space for personal stories and memories, meaningful music and readings, and a tone that reflects your beliefs—non-religious, spiritual, or mixed. There is no fixed format—only what feels right for you.
How do you support us through the process?
I will guide you gently from beginning to end. We meet and talk about your loved one, I help shape and write the ceremony, support you with readings and structure, and work with your funeral director to ensure everything flows calmly on the day.
Do you work with funeral directors?
Yes, I work closely with funeral directors to ensure everything is coordinated and runs smoothly.
Can the ceremony include religious or spiritual elements?
Yes. Ceremonies can be non-religious, gently spiritual, or include religious elements—everything is shaped around your wishes.
What does it cost?
The fee is typically around €300. This includes our meeting, writing the ceremony, and delivering it on the day. If you have any concerns about cost, please feel free to speak with me—this can always be discussed.
What happens after we contact you?
We begin with a simple, gentle conversation. From there, we arrange a time to meet, talk through your wishes, and begin shaping the ceremony together. There is no pressure—just a calm starting point.
